The time has come for the man who jumps in first and selflessly helps others. To receive some help himself. My name is Jessica. My father is Ron Gibson. Sometime around November 28th Someone who had been exposed to full blown Covid and didn't know they had been exposed. Exposed my father. Around December 3rd my dad started having common cold type symptoms. They worsened to flu symptoms. None of us thought Covid because there were no repertory symptoms. We were told Sunday December 5th about the exposure as that person or persons tested positive. The morning of December 6th my father was tested. His result was positive. He was scheduled to have the anti-body infusion on the evening of December 8th. Unfortunately the morning of the 8th he woke up with increased symptoms. He was so weak he couldn't even lift his head up to vomit. He couldn't get out of bed to use the restroom. He had coughed so hard to try to dislodge the mucus build up that he fractured several ribs. This was 6am. Not wanting to unnecessarily panic. Instead of calling 911 himself. He waited three hours in this state for his doctors office to open. Upon telling his doctor about his updated condition. They immediately sent an ambulance to his home and took him to the hospital. There are currently no major improvements but the best thing is there haven't been any set backs. For now we hope. Pray. With our fingers crossed.
My dad is too proud to ask for help himself. Which is why without his permission I am doing it for him. My dad has Medicare. As you probably know Medicare covers a lot. But they also lack in a lot of areas as well. Especially in all of the smaller things that rapidly add up. This could be a monetary burden for quite some time.
He is also going to need some assistance modifications done to his home for when he is released. Primarily grab bars and hand handles installed in various places throughout his home. And a few other things that insurance does not cover.
I know it's Christmas time. I know for some, money is extremely tight this time of year. I'm hoping that because of the type of friend my father is to his friends, he always leaps first without a parachute to help others. That your heart is filled with the spirit of Christmas giving and you can help the more than worthy cause for this extremely worthy man.
I know in my heart that because who this is for and the type of friend my dad is to his friends. Especially when he learns his friend's are in need. We should have no problem blowing right past the requested amount.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
