Repatriation flight back to the UK

Update 28/19/23

My brother remains medically sedated due to a blood clot in his brain. At this time the Doctors do not feel surgery is necessary. They will continue to assess every 48 hours. Due to this he will have to remain in Greece for the foreseeable future. The financial implications for this are currently unknown but it is a very large concern of my parents and I.

Kie was unfortunately involved in a serious motorcycle accident on Thursday the 19th of October while visiting Athens in Greece.

As it stands we are unable to confirm if his holiday package included insurance as we are not able to access his phone. We are assuming no at this stage.

He is currently in a serious condition and sedated while they assess the full extent of his Injuries.

Once he is in a stable condition our number one priority is to fly him back to the United Kingdom for continued treatment.

Me and my Dad arrived in Greece just hours after being informed about the accident. We managed to track down where he was staying as he had hotel keys with his personal items. I was deeply saddened by the conditions he was staying in. The hotel was in a run down area and the room was horrendous, it’s sad as I know that is all he could afford. I imagine he hired a bike to make the most of his trip and get out of the hotel. I’m sure he wasn’t having a great time which breaks my heart.

kie is a father to 4 beautiful girls who really need him home and well.

We desperately need help paying his medical bills and getting him back home as soon as possible please help by donating anything you can afford.

I have been in contact with a Medical Repatriations company and have been informed an Air Ambulance from Athens airport to Gatwick will cost on the region of £30,000-£35,000

The total cost of the medical bills is currently unknown. Due to Kie’s recent development regarding the blood clot. His only option is to remain in Athens for now.
