Medical Bills for Arrow the Mustang

Donation protected

Arrow is a 2 year old wild mustang who suffering from a serious case of colic.

He is owned by my friend, Stacie Thomas, of New River.  Stacie runs a BLM storefront and works with a network of TIP Trainers to help them acquire burros for training and adoption, but she's more than that.  She's also a mentor to us 2-legged types and a friend to all of our 4-legged equine brethren.  She's dedicated her life to helping and working with wild horses and burros.

She recently rescued a wild burro that was hit by a car.  She brought it home, arranged medical care (including the removal of bullet found in x-rays) and ultimately got it placed in a donkey sanctuary.  I know of two instances in the last 60 days where she was called because of young burros in trouble.  In both cases she went out into the desert to try to help these animals.

So anyway, Arrow came up sick this week.  Stacie brought in the local vet and had her treated, but the colic hasn't cleared up so she had to have her admitted to the local animal hospital.  The estimated cost of treatment is as high as $4,000.

If you are an animal lover, and you've ever been hit with this kind of bill, then you know what this is like.
