Medical bills for baby Eleanor June Ross-Frantz

From Barbara Fondren,
Dear Families,
As Montessorians, we are storytellers - I would like to tell you a story.
Many of you know Emily and Allen - teachers in the Islands (part of our adolescent program) with our 12-14 year olds. However, they are more than teachers at Community Montessori.
Emily started at CM in 2005 and Allen in 2006. They have been highly influential in shaping our incredible, innovative, and transformative teens program. We would not be who we are without their dedication and commitment to our teens and their families.
Emily and Allen married last year and were expecting their first child (together) this March. Emily embraced this new role of emerging parenthood in true Emily fashion - still (literally) climbing mountains while taking great care of the vessel that was carrying their precious wonder.
Suddenly and unexpectedly, Emily became gravely ill this past Monday with a syndrome called HELLP, an extremely rare form of preeclampsia occurring only in about .07% of pregnancies. To protect the lives of Emily and their soon-to-be new premature baby, doctors quickly delivered Eleanor June at 31 weeks, weighing only 2 lbs 11 ounces.
Emily is responding well to treatment and may even be released from the hospital this weekend. Sweet baby Eleanor will remain across the street in the NICU for potentially 8 more weeks as she builds her strength and ability to live independently.
Although Allen and Emily are *very* independent humans, they have given me permission to share their story in the hope of educating others on this very rare condition. You can learn more about HELLP at:
https://www.preeclampsia.org/health-information/hellp-syndrome/
When unexpected life events happen, many of us want to find ways to help. Our staff family has started donations of PTO time to help them along this journey.
There is also a Go Fund Me page started to help with all of the many expenses that come from this type of extraordinary life event.
Please keep Emily, Allen, and baby Eleanor in your thoughts and/or prayers.
Peace and love,
Barbara Fondren
