Medical Expenses for Bobbi

Donation protected
Update from Melissa (2/27/2024):

First….I want to sincerely thank everyone who has donated thus far! Second….if you can imagine the cost of an ICU stay after an emergency such as a stroke, quadruple that to have the repairs done! Today, Bobbi had surgery on her heart to repair the hole that was found that, hopefully, was the source of the stroke. Of course, saving her life does not come without a huge expense! Today I am reaching out again for anything that you can do to assist! If it is prayers, we are so thankful for that but anything at all that will help with the cost is also appreciated!

Update from Bobbi:

Yes I won but doctors are still trying to figure out where my stroke originated from and what caused it. From the Cardiologist, Hematologist and Neurologist I’m still a medical mystery. I’ve stumped them all.
All my tests have come back showing nothing as what caused the two blood clots on my brain.
Last week…I had 12 tubes of blood taken, this week four more taken and no telling how many more next week…and next up, a soon to be scheduled heart procedure for me. Praying they figure it out. My dad had strokes at a young age… I lost a sister to cerebral hemorrhage at a young age. My middle child had a small stroke last year and a month ago my oldest had a stroke!
(When I said I wanted my kids to grow up and be like me…I didn’t mean like this)!!
My doctors are baffled. They are all trying to find anything genetic or hereditary. So many tests. I even had a device implanted in my chest to track my heart. So far nothing.
At least I’m thankful that I’m “healthy”
Both of my sons have holes in their hearts (they’ve discovered with their strokes). Oldest is facing surgery for his. I’m pushing my middle son to go for a second opinion Supposedly i do not have a hole in mine but another heart procedure coming up to confirm that.
Neurologist says he needs to change my blood thinner but has to know where my stroke originated from in order to put me on the right one. The one wrong could cause a brain bleed!
This is some scary stuff. My anxiety has been through the roof!! Thankfully my work days are busy and keeps my mind off of it.
Hoping they figure this all out. I worry about my kids!!
Pray for my kids and I so doctors can put a stop to this. I really don’t want my youngest to go through this.
Anyone else out there had this happen in their family and had it figured out? I’d be happy to hear your story?
That’s all the update for now. Oh yeah..they also found a tumor on my pituitary (it’s benign) but I’ll save that story for another day. Lol. (Had it years ago but was told it was shrunk with medicine and gone). Guess not. ‍♀️

If you’ve made it this far. Thanks for reading my update!!
Easier to post it here than trying to tell everyone that asks, one at a time.
Have a blessed day everyone. ❤️❤️This is Bobbi….39 years ago Bobbi and I rode to and from high school together, every day, no cares in the world. (Except for normal teenage stuff). Fast forward to Mother’s Day morning….she woke up ready to talk to her children and grandchildren to celebrate but the day had different plans.

As any other morning she got up, fed the cats, put laundry in, made coffee and took her daily medicine. Everything seemed normal. When she sat down to drink her coffee, she noticed a pill had dropped on her shirt. She tried three times to put it in her mouth and couldn’t. She got down to pick it up and when she stood up, she had tunnel vision and was extremely dizzy. She tried to wake up Jimmie as she felt she was about to pass out. She sat on the bed and immediately fell on him. . When she tried to speak, she couldn’t and Jimmie noticed her face drooping and she was drooling. Her whole right side went numb. Thankfully, Jimmie knew EXACTLY what to do and dialed 911 to get her to the hospital.

After a life-saving medication it was discovered that she had two blood clots on her brain which had caused a major stroke. This led her to 24 hour around the clock ICU care with little progress. Slowly her symptoms started to improve; her face went back to normal and she started getting feeling back in her right side. She is now resting at home with some paralysis in her vocal cords and the desperate need for rest and sleep to encourage more healing.

Of course we trust and rely on the glory of God for her physical healing but, needless to say, the ambulance ride, life-saving care, ICU stay and the inability to return to work will put an incredible strain on her family’s finances. My hopes are that this fundraiser will allow her to take the time that she needs to rest and recuperate without the stress of worrying about, at least a portion, of the impending medical bills.
