After a few nights of talks and prayers and a complete breakdown in the doctor office today...
It was brought up to me at our last appointment that they thought it would be in MY best interest to deliver naturally by 26 weeks (for reasons I don't feel comfortable telling) or going as far as I could and having another c-section.
We originally thought we were going to induce earlier. I mean thought we had completely made up our mind. But once we were in the room talking to the doctor, we were telling him we needed more time to talk about it. He left the room with an appointment scheduled for next Monday to decide. But I LOST IT, y'all. Water works.
We asked the doctor to come back in the room and after talking we decided to schedule a c-section at 37 weeks.
They're going to allow me to immediately hold her and they're never going to take her from me or separate us. She will stay with me, and go to recovery with me and then back to the room from recovery. She will never go to the nursery. We will also be delaying getting her measurements.
Dr. Campbell is going to allow our photographer to be in the OR to photograph the entire birth. One of my biggest wishes. I want to REALLY remember her birth. They're really working to make this birth be what we want. We want it to be special, for a special little girl.
Most importantly they're working with us to go to at least 37 weeks so we can still donate her organs. Which was the one thing we kept coming back to while trying to decide what to do. We want her to leave something behind.
We feel so at peace with our decision.
It takes some people an entire lifetime to change someone's life, our Emmy is going to do it the day she is born. THAT is a hero. I couldn't be more proud of a little girl that's not even here yet.
She's been having to see her regular OB/GYN Doctor as well as the maternal fetal medicine specialist. She was told at a recent doctors appointment that insurance was barely covering anything and she was going to have to pay an extensive amount of money out of pocket. We are still unsure of what the outcome is going to be so the reason for this account is to help pay for medical bills if she's able to carry to term, or burial costs if the baby doesn't survive. Anything will help, this sweet family is so deserving and I know will be appreciative of anything that's given. Thanks in advance!
