Medical Bills for Brian Pohl

Our dear friend Brian Pohl has been hospitalized since September 8  and is not expected to recover. 

Here is a message from his wife, Jalene Bowersmith:
It is with great sadness that I share that my husband, Brian Pohl is gravely ill.  On September 8 he was admitted to the hospital with jaundice and other symptoms consistent with liver failure. At that time he was given a 50% chance of surviving the next three months.  Over the last 2 weeks we’ve had ups and downs.  Unfortunately on Friday, September 18 he took a turn for the worse and was put on a ventilator and admitted to the ICU.  Since that time his condition has continued to deteriorate.  His liver and kidneys are not working and are getting worse.  At this time the family has decided to set his code status to DNR (Do Not Resuscitate). We are not pursuing extreme measures to save his life since his quality of life, if he survived, would be extremely poor.  As of September 21 he has a 10% chance of surviving.  We are preparing for the worse and hoping for the best. 

We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.  At this time we are not responding directly to inquire because we are focusing on Brian and saying good-bye.  I will post again once we know more.  Again, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
