Medical Bills for Carrie Espinosa

Hi, my name is Victoria Gomez and I am the daughter of Carrie and Joseph Espinosa. We have created this account to support my parents during this time of medical uncertainty. I will be helping them go through EOBs and Medical bills as they come in.

Last Monday, my mom became very ill thinking it was the flu by Tuesday morning the Pagosa ER was airlifting her to Colorado Springs. By the time we all arrived, she had a severe altered state of mind and level of consciousness. For several days, my mom appeared to be completely vacant and blank. Described like she was in a coma. Her ability to interact with others was completely gone along with responding to touch, voice, or pain. Her body was limp and she could not move it. During this time they ran several tests and they were coming back clear. Then the EEG showed irritability in her brain. They also did a lumbar puncture which tested her spinal fluid and that showed abnormalities. Majority of those tests on the spinal fluid will not be back for 2 to 3 weeks. By the grace of God, 3 days later my mom began to wake we started to see a slow process of her regaining consciousness in areas. She spent several days in the ICU and PCU unit followed by being placed on the neuroscience floor. We were able to bring her home as we wait on the remaining test results so we can get a final diagnosis. During this time she will be scheduled for several tests and procedures to check for cancer.

We have felt all your prayers and love durning this difficult and emotional time. Our mom Carrie is our everything and the thought of losing her was unimaginable.
