Support for the Shockley’s (Grover, Zach, Gabi)

Hi all! As some of you know, Zach and Gabi received devastating news earlier this week and could really use our support right now! All funds donated will go to help with medical bills, lost wages and unexpected costs that come up over the next few months as Grover receives treatment! Please say continued prayers for Grover’s healing and for strength for Zach, Gabi and all three kids.

Per Gabi:
Grover was ill off and on for a few weeks with fever and fatigue, we visited the pediatricians office 3 times with lots of tests but not a lot of answers. We struggled with not knowing what was causing all this and I was done not having answers and so we took him into the ER Monday night 2/8. The ER doctor told us he had a potential mediastinal mass and combined with his abnormal blood work, we are probably looking at a cancer of some type. We were then transferred to OU children’s where we had CT scans done right away that indicated abnormalities with his lymph nodes, further confirming that we are dealing with a malignancy. We were seen by an oncologist almost immediately that morning around 5-6 am and he believes that this likely a lymphoma. His plan is to be quick and aggressive to begin getting more information for a diagnosis with biopsies of lymph nodes and bone marrow, as well as a port placement to start treatment ASAP. He is getting the port and biopsies as well as an LP today 2/10 under anesthesia so he will not remember or feel a thing. We will keep everyone posted here as often as we are able to. We are so grateful for all of the love and support we have received from our family and friends. We could not fight this battle without you all and Grover needs all the encouragement he can get to get through this.
