Medical Bills for Krista

Hi! My name is Jackie and I am fundraising for my friend and colleague, Krista Pollack. On January 17th, Krista told me she was staying home due to a bad migraine. Not fun, but no big deal. 3 days later, the migraine showed no sign of going away and she ended up going to the ER. They did not really help and referred her to a neurologist. Unfortunately, those appointments are really hard to come by. She had to wait 28 days to finally see one! In the meantime, she started losing her vision, couldn’t walk straight, and couldn’t keep food down. She ended up at the ER two more times before making it to the neurologist. When Krista finally saw the neurologist, they immediately sent her to Froedert where they discovered she has THREE blood clots in her brain. It was never a migraine, but extreme pressures due to the brain clots. It is now February 23. Her blood clots are showing no improvements despite being on a high dose of blood thinners. She has now also had an optic nerve sheath surgery to help with the pressure behind her eye and they are currently debating another surgery behind the other eye. The doctors cannot even estimate when she will be released from the hospital, let alone when she can return to work. I can’t even imagine what her medical bills are looking like. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your help!

Update 2/25/24

Tomorrow, Krista will be having another Optic Nerve Sheath Surgery behind the other eye! Still no progress with the blood clots despite all of the blood thinners. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts!
