Medical Bills for Lois and Brian

My dear friend of 36 years, Lois Swarm has hit a very rough patch in life.

One of my best friends, who is so incredibly kind, caring and giving just got dealt a really bad deck of cards.

Lois has always been an active woman, who took care of both of her parents while they battled cancer, until she lost them both.

Lois, an only child, took my children under her wings. She loves them and has cared for them deeply, as if they are her own.

Last week Lois was doing what she loves. Taking care of her yard and her and her boyfriend Brian's home. She had back pain and thought nothing of it.

Lois woke up this past Saturday, just 4 days ago and could not walk. She was transported to Northern Dutchess Hospital via ambulance, thinking she had sciatica.

What she endured next and is still enduring is nothing less than horrifying. Lois found out that she had over a 4 inch mass in her lung, a broken vertebrae and a broken rib. The cancer, that she did not know she had, has spread to her bones and she has a lesion on her skull.

During this rough time, Lois and Brian will need ALL the help they can get to transition through this. Lois will need home health aides, while Brian continues to work.

Any amount that can be donated to offset the major medical bills to follow would be so much appreciated.

This is a woman who has literally given me the shirt off her back. A kind soul, who never deserved what she and Brian are enduring now.
