Medical bills for Patty Peppler
Donation protected
I am starting a gofundme page for Patty to help relieve the added stress of medical bills during her crucial healing process. Many people have reached out throughout this process asking how they can help and so I thought this page would allow you all to help by sharing this page or donating to Patty's medical find.
Thank you to everyone that has helped during this journey! I cannot express enough thanks to the family and friends, that are family, that have shown so much love and support for Patty during this time. I am sharing a summary of Patty's journey for anyone that was unaware of all Patty has endured to miraculously get to where she is today.
Pattys journey started on July 2nd with an emergency room visit in Othello that revealed multiple brain, lung, and pelvic cancerous lesions, but most concerning a large bleeding brain tumor.
We didn't know what kind of cancer or where/when it began but doctors urged us to rush Patty to sacred heart due to her very rapid decline in mobility and brain function. This turned into a 10 day stay in Spokane where it seemed they had no answers or hope for Patty to have any life after this diagnosis. After 10 days at sacred heart they sent Patty to a nursing home with no diagnosis or hope for Patty's life.
The nursing home was a terribly negative experience that left Patty and all of us hopeless.
On July 17th we took Patty to see Dr Sue Mandell (radiation oncologists). This was a challenging appointment due to Patty's physical and mental state after all she had endured. Shortly after examining Patty Dr. Mandell urged us to take Patty to Kadlec emergency room. She ordered all new test that were completed that evening. After seeing her MRI and consulting multiple Drs they determined that if Patty wanted to live she had to do major brain surgery to remove the blood clot and bleeding tumor. It was high risk but her only option. We opted for surgery. During this time Dr Haque (Patty's oncologist) found the original biopsy results from sacred heart. Little did we know they had them for 4 days and failed to share with ANYONE. This changed the treatment plan completely. Patty had stage 4 melanoma cancer that spread to her lungs and brain.
Although not good news, we finally had a diagnosis, treatment plan, and surgery scheduled. Patty's surgery went quickly and effectively... The first positive moment during this journey! Patty was showing signs of improvement immediately after waking up. Over the next several days Patty was moved to different areas of Kadlec as she progressed through her healing process. She finally went to in patient physical therapy on July 23rd where she continued to improve daily.
Patty came home on August 13th. Despite all the odds Patty is doing very well and improving daily. She has graduated her radiation treatment and will continue with immunotherapy.
This journey is far from over for Patty but is full of love and hope for the future. If you would like to help please donate or share. We appreciate all of you and your continued support during this time.
