Medical Bills for Ripp & Roo

Donation protected
Please help to cover the costs of Ripp & Roo's Medical Bills!

My name is Brittany and I have two 6 year old male tabby cats, Ripp & Roo. Both boys became quite ill at the beginning of September with seemingly no cause. Below are their stories, Ripp needs more intensive care and surgery.

Roo: began to have problems with urinating. He would either go outside the box in random areas or would sit and strain inside the box, with no relief. He has had multiple urine and blood samples taken and the vets still cannot determine the exact cause of what is going on with him. They have found some blood and crystals in his urine but otherwise he seems fine. As of now the treatment has turned to a special dietary food with emphasis on keeping his hydration levels up.

Ripp: began not eating, initially we thought in part to Roo receiving special food. Multiple vet visits later, he has received multiple blood and urine samples, which showed an elevated white blood cell count, as well as ALT. Since the beginning of the journey he's lost 2-2.5 lbs; however, due to consistent care and patience, we've been able to stabilize his weight and ensure he's getting nutrition to sustain himself. We had to get an x-ray, which again came back as fairly normal. Recently, we needed to be more intensive and give him an ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed a mass is forming in his mesentery and thus, he will need surgery to remove this. The mass is hopefully within the fatty areas, which wouldn't cause any complications. However, there's a chance the mass is forming close to the blood vessels surrounding the small intestine or near the aorta. Before surgery we will need to get a chest x-ray again to see if anything is visible and then an exploratory surgery will take place, during which hopefully the mass can be removed. During/after the surgery, a feeding tube will need to be put in place in order to ensure he receives the hydration and nutrients in order to get his weight and muscle mass back up to regular levels.

So far we have spent $3,000 for both cats medical bills. With the ongoing dietary needs of Roo and the unknown cost of Ripp's surgery, I am struggling with the costs. The bills keep adding up and I have no where left to turn.

Anything Helps. Myself, Ripp, & Roo appreciate and thank everyone for reading our story, sharing, and donating.

Update 1: Ripp unfortunately did not make it past the surgery. All the blood vessels going to his gastrointestinal system were embedded into the mass and this became unsafe to remove. The medical/vet bills do not disappear and thus I still need some fundraising. I'm also required to pay for the aftercare bills and those aren't cheap. Roo is still in need of care, with no new updates.

Update 2: Roo has not yet been back to the vet due to the costs. He has been given a supplement to assist with relaxation, especially during this time because he is grieving his brother.
