Medical Care for Margaret Stevens

My name is Samuel Stevens. My mother, Margaret Stevens, is the world's best mom. I know, everyone says that about their parents. But it's true. Over the last few years, she's kept our family afloat during a years-long run of bad luck including my father being handicapped both mentally and physically in a motorcycle accident, and countless legal expenses to become his guardian and take care of him while also keeping the bills paid and everyone fed. During this, her breast cancer came back, which she had already beaten a whopping TWO times before I was born.

This third time, she had a mastectomy. It was thought that she had quelled it, yet she was recently diagnosed again for a fourth time. This time is different from the other three, however. It has been found in her lymph nodes.

She has Intermediate invasive lobular carcinoma and Metastatic carcinoma of lymphoid stroma. She is HER2 Positive, and her DNA has mutated. It is very, very serious.

She has been told by the doctors that she will need Chemotherapy for the rest of her life, and she will need radiation. She will also need a litany of scans and tests done.

Ordinarily, my family is not prone to asking for help, but my mother lost her job a while back since she was not able to work while recovering from the mastectomy and having to be home to take care of Dad. As a result, she is on social security, and her insurance does not cover all the expenses.

My family and I plan to help with finances, of course, but the costs are incredibly high. Not only the medical costs but the cost of traveling to the hospital, and any other places she needs to be.

This is why I come to GoFundMe to beg for assistance. My mother is the greatest person I have ever known. None of us are ready to lose her yet. If you cannot donate or wish not to, that is okay. All I ask is that you share this where you can, that we might be able to fight this off a fourth time. As best we can, at least.
