Support for Medical Providers in Ukraine

As the war in Ukraine closes it on its first month, the humanitarian support at the border, and deeper into the country has slowed dramatically. During the first days of the invasion it was next to impossible to move across the border. Hundreds of thousands of refugees were moving across the border to Poland, and being welcomed by NGO’s and volunteers. The situation at the main border today, is small pockets of refugees moving across the border during the daytime. “Tent city” as its called, has less than 10 NGOs working around the clock. They are providing a small amount of medical support, some food and water, and information for refugees moving to other parts of the EU. 

Deeper inside the country, air raid sirens sound and citizens take shelter in basements that are used as bomb shelters. These “shelters” are not real bomb shelters but are the best place to hide. My team and I did not feel the safest there. Food and water are scarce at the frontlines of the war, with some cities being left without electricity, running water, and very limited supplies. Humanitarian corridors are established but then shelled by enemy forces during the time they are populated.

I have a background as a combat medic in the military, as well as prior experience organizing and conducting medical/dental clinics in the villages of Cambodia during my time in a missionary program named YOUTHCALL. My wife is a medical professional in Europe, and her knowledge/skills far exceed my own.

Together, we are seeking to provide support for the injured/non-injured, including the animals accompanying them.

All donations will be used for medicine and emergency medical equipment, and other emergency needs of those seeking safety on both sides of the border.
