Medical Care for Remote Andean Community of Piñan
Tax deductible
Our Wichana Foundation sponsors medical/dental brigades to remote areas in Northern Ecuador. We need your support to bring a team in August to the small indigenous village of Piñan, Ecuador. This village is very isolated, has no medical facility and needs our help. About 40 families live in Piñán in homes made of adobe and wood with roofs made of grass. The villagers mainly make their living raising livestock. Piñán is 3,112 meters (10,209 feet) above sea level and is many hours away from the nearest hospital. Because the families of Piñan lack access to clean drinking water, we are also raising funds to purchase water filtration devices for each household.
