Medical Costs for Brianna

Brianna has been struggling with troubling symptoms for quite some time, but without health insurance, she was unable to go to the doctor to determine the problem. Prior to Covid, God blessed her with a job working for a company that offered health insurance and a free thyroid screening. Unfortunately, the screening showed that Brianna has 14 cysts on her thyroid. After waiting to be eligible for health insurance, she went to a general physician and was initially misdiagnosed. Brianna then went to a specialist who advised her that one of the cysts was solid. After a biopsy, the specialist told Brianna that it was likely cancerous and has urgently recommended the removal of her entire thyroid due not only to the cancer, but because the number of additional cysts increases her risk for further cancerous growth. 

Brianna has been physically suffering for some time without a diagnosis, and is in a good amount of discomfort swallowing and breathing.  While she is anxious, she knows that God has orchestrated everything along the way to get her to that specialist. She is looking forward to her health and quality of life being improved and many more years with her sweet babies.

While she does have health insurance now, not all costs will be covered. The surgeon requires co-pay prior to surgical services which are scheduled for next week. After that, there also will be  uncovered costs for her hospital stay, anesthesiologists, and medications; in addition to lost time at work.
