On January 5, 2020, our friend John Coletti was the victim of a violent assault and suffered seven fractures to his eye socket, jaw, and nose.
John underwent reconstructive surgery on January 15. The surgery was a success, and John is on the road to recovery.
John is lucky to have good health insurance, but he will accrue some out-of-pocket costs. It’s also possible that he’ll need further procedures down the line, and he may need to move.
We’re fundraising to make sure that John can focus on healing—physically and mentally—without worrying about money.
We don’t know today the exact amount that we need to raise, but we think it will be between $5K and $10K. If we collect more money than John needs, he’ll donate the balance to the Malala Fund.
