Medical Crisis Fund for April Grimes and her Kids

April is a 37 year old mother to 3 children. Hannah just graduated, Colby is in middle school, and Ryder is much younger requiring full time attention for cerebral palsy. April works at the local middle/highschool where her schedule allows her flexibility to accommodate the needs of her children. She also spends much of her time advocating for Cerebral Palsy.

This morning (7/16/22), much to the heartache of her children and those who know and love her, her mother shared the desperate cry for prayers as April suffered a massive heart attack during the night. On the way to the hospital, she coded and currently has no brain activity. She is on a ventilator. They are cooling her body temp to 32* for 24 hours then they will warm her up for 8 hours. If that doesn’t work then we will have to take her off the ventilator.

After having approval from April's mother, Robin, to create this fundraiser, she told me that her condition was caused as a result of complications from diabetes. Ketoacidosis. April will likely require heart surgery upon waking.

On behalf of April's family, I am reaching out to ask for help to cover any costs associated with her medical, the costs for her mother and children to drive back and forth, and any other inconveniences that could be related to April's unexpected medical crisis.

Her children and her mother, are so precious. April has devoted so much of her time at the school to help others.
