Medical Emergency for Beloved Betsy Davis

Hi, my name is Elise Yarnell and I grew up with Betsy at Sunset Presbyterian Church, in Beaverton. Betsy is one of a kind with her smile and her whit. She now lives down the street from me in Newberg and I have been privileged to reconnect!

Besides supporting her dad's significant health issues, Betsy has been on a roller coaster of a medical journey her own over the past few years.

When I ran into her at the grocery store, I begged her to let me know how I could help. The largest concerns are lack of insurance coverage for pump education, insulin, and loss of wages while she will be out of work for a couple months recovering from this serious surgery.

This LIFE SAVING surgery she has the chance to get will truly correct the problems that have been treated over the last few years (like bandaids).

In her words:

I’ve had pancreatic issues for 10 years .. people thought It was anything but the pancreas turns out I was born with it we don’t know why since I’m adopted from Russia we have no medical background. this will be my 20th surgery and the biggest one. The time frame for surgery will be august. OHP covers the surgery but not the diabetic classes that will be $300 and then $500 for insulin and enzymes I'll have to take as i prep and heal . The drive to ohsu and back is an hour .

i know how many people adore Betsy and Mary and this gift would take a huge load off of them for medications, transportation, education, and keeping up on bills while Betsy is off work.
