Medical Emergency for GIGI

Donation protected
My name is Chelsea & I am Gigi’s mama.

Gigi is a 10 month old poodle that makes our world light up.

Gigi got spayed about 12 days ago. She has been fatigued and just different since she was spayed. 4 days ago GG quit eating. She started vomiting and having diarrhea. She ended
up getting a high fever After regular veterinary hours. I called around to every local vet in the area. No one could see her after hours for her specific condition. They said that I would need to go to Columbia or Springfield. I decided to take her to Columbia. When we got there, she was so sick. They did not even wait on a negative Parvo test before bringing her into the building. Which is unheard of at a veterinary hospital, but she was in respiratory distress and was severely dehydrated and they could see that just from looking at her. We got there at 9:30 PM and around 3:30 AM after running several tests and trying to get her stable they came to the conclusion she was septic.

The next day, the doctor told me she had a large mass, the size of a golf ball in her abdomen on top of being septic. We had no idea what the mass was. I basically had two options to put her to sleep because she could not live off of the IV glucose medicine. They were giving her and the other life support she was receiving or have her get a surgery that they close at $8,000 to $15,000.

After thinking, long and hard, I decided to go ahead and get the surgery for her. Not knowing if five. They said she had a 50-50 chance of surviving. She went ahead and got the four hour surgery where they came to the conclusion that performed her spay had punctured her intestines, left gauze in her body, left a part of her uterus in her body, and cost her to be septic and a large abscess mass form around the gauze that was left in her body.

I signed a no liability form to the specific that they did her spay. I am going to try to go after them for some of the money. But in the meantime, she is in critical condition in ICU with a feeding tube still. She got pneumonia after the surgery, which was a complication, which made it a little more expensive yet. And that also increased the days that she hast to stay the night at the emergency hospital.

If you can help at all, I would greatly appreciate it. This has been a very large, unexpected expense for my family. Thank you so so much. Every little bit will help. The bill is due at the time that I check her out of the hospital.
