Medical Emergency - Skin and Kidney infection

Hello everyone,

Firstly, allow me to thank you for allocating the time to go through this fundraising.

- Medical Emergency - Skin and Kidney infection caused by mold exposure.

Michael (name changed to protect privacy) is a queer Syrian refugee who moved to the UK nearly 4 years ago through the UN asylum program. He had settled in well since his arrival, and having found a sense of safety, has been building a life.

In November last year, Michael was laid off and has not yet been able to secure a stable job.
In February, Michael started to face a problem at his rented property, was not able to pay his rent. His financial situation has only gotten worse since then. He is struggling with affording basic necessities like food or cleaning supplies, and now owes Local Council taxes that, if not paid, would lead to the repossession of his personal belongings.

Michael then started showing signs of a skin disease. Kidney pains, and shortage of breath. After he did some research, he found out that his symptoms were consistent with mold allergies and the pain he was feeling was likely due to mold spores and mites. He asked to have his house inspected, but was told that the levels of mold were below average and he shouldn't be affected, despite experiencing ongoing symptoms. His medical condition has not yet improved, nor has another cause been identified until now.

He reached back out to his case worker who said that they would move him out, but the only real option was through the same landlord because it would be quicker, but landlord refused to move Michael to another property as he already has rent arrears and the other two available properties are more expensive by £100.

Currently Michael is living alone and the level of pain is increased. He needs to raise funds to pay for immediate costs (such as paying back rent and paying a council tax that would prevent his personal belongings from being repossessed), as well as to hire a deep cleaning service equipped to handle the mold situation in his apartment to alleviate his symptoms until he is able to move, cover debts to friends and family who have helped him out, and raise funds to get diagnosed by a private doctor as NHS doesn't have the facilities to do tests for mold, although for moving costs (including a deposit on a new apartment and hiring movers) to find appropriate housing in a new location that would allow him to pursue long term financial stability, and a long list of problems.

Any support at any level would be highly appreciated.
