Medical Equipment For Farafenni General Hospital

The Chakubantang Diaspora Network Association is embarking on a fundraising campaign to help remove the misery of the healthcare workers and patients in the delivery and surgical units at the hospital. The town of Farafenni which has a population of over thirty thousand people houses the Farafenni General Hospital; a major hospital that was built by the government to reduce if not stop referrals from Farafenni and the surrounding communities in the North Bank Region to the country’s only major referral hospital in Banjul. A need assessment was done at the Farafenni General Hospital, and it has been brought to the attention of the Association that there is a sense of urgency to equip the hospital with a modern delivery bed and electric operating table as replacements for the current worn-out and dilapidated ones which continue to pose a safety hazard to both doctors and patients. The lack of a standard delivery bed and operating table continues to be a nightmare because this poses a safety hazard for healthcare workers and patients as they continue to make do with current substandard and dilapidated equipment, exposing them to fall and ergonomic hazards among other things.
We are seeking donations from individuals and philanthropic organizations to help us equip the hospital with modern delivery beds and electric operating tables. Our goal in this fundraiser is to raise $4,000 which will be used to buy and ship the much needed medical equipment to the hospital in Farafenni. We appreciate your support in addressing this dire situation that requires immediate attention. This is a community-led philanthropic initiative that is meant to give back to our community by addressing their immediate need, hence the clarion call to donate generously towards this noble gesture.
