Medical Expenses after Hate Crime attack

Hi everyone,

 My name is Sean Costin, and I’m reaching out to you today with a heartfelt request. On August 1, 2024, I was brutally attacked by five masked men in Portsmouth, NH. Three of them held me down while the other two punched my face and kicked my genitalia. Despite the excruciating pain, I found the courage to drive myself to the hospital. The forceful kicks led to an infection on my scrotum, resulting in Sepsis. I now require cosmetic surgery and assistance with my medical bills. I spent two weeks in surgery and was discharged on August 7. However, on August 10, I was rushed back to the hospital for a second surgical procedure due to an internal infection. I was on the brink of death both times. Today, August 21, I am back home, recovering with a wound vacuum-assisted closure device. At the end of this month, I will undergo reconstructive surgery on my scrotum. This was a planned hate crime, and I am working with the police to find the perpetrators. I pray that the Portsmouth police can help bring them to justice. This GoFundMe was created to help me pay my medical bills, and I am very sure that when I am back on my feet, I will reach out to everyone who helped me with my recovery. I am in good spirits and hopeful for my recovery, but I am mostly upset that I cannot work due to my strong work ethic instilled in me by my parents. This attack will set me back financially for two to three months, and I fear I may get evicted from my home. I am extremely appreciative of those who have helped me already, and I am sure I will show that gratitude when I am back on my feet. I promise that when I am back, I will find a soup kitchen or the Salvation Army to volunteer my time. “You like taking care of people because it heals the part of you that needed someone to take care of you.” This quote from the Mind Journal resonates deeply with me.
