Medical Expenses & Care for Nikita
Our names are Hilary & Martín and we are coworkers and friends of Nikita Tarver from Seattle Theatre Group.
On Saturday May 30th, Nikita was attending a peaceful protest and listening to some of the speakers near City Hall in downtown Seattle. As she and her best friend got ready to leave, a rush of people in the crowd ran up toward the front of the line where the police were and Nikita was caught in the middle. It appears someone off to the side threw something at the cops and they opened fire with tear gas pellets and rubber bullets into the crowd. Unfortunately, Nikita was hit directly in her left eye by a tear gas pellet. She was rushed to Harborview and endured multiple surgeries. The extent of the damage to her eye is still unknown at this time due to its severity and she has a lot of healing ahead and possibly more surgery.
If you’ve met Nikita, then you know what a kind and caring soul she is. We hope to help raise some money for her medical expenses and any other care items she may need while she heals, like food delivery etc. Thank you for anything you can contribute!

PS: There is a second GoFundMe account set up by another coworker of Nikita's named Kathi Johnson out of Spokane. I have spoken with Kathi and her fund is legit so please feel free to donate to whichever fund you feel most comfortable, we were not aware of each other when we set up these separate fundraisers. Rest assured, the money we are both raising is going directly to Nikita. The more money the better, as many of us were recently laid off from our jobs at STG and she will also have many medical expenses with no insurance.
