Medical Expenses Associated with Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Our daughter, Kasey Ann Frank, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer on her 29th birthday in August 2021. She has undergone an aggressive chemotherapy regime for the past 8 months and has since been scheduled for a double mastectomy at the end of March.
Until recently, Kasey has worked as a waitress but has had her hours reduced to two days a week. Once she receives her surgery, she will be out of work for an extended period of time. Not only will she lose what little income she depended on to pay her phone, insurance, gas, but certainly cannot afford the medical costs being incurred.
We’ve moved her back home to help defray some of her costs but because both Robert and I are veterans and retired, we are not able to cover all of her medical expenses and she is no longer in our medical insurance.
One thing about Kasey is that she has always been very nurturing, caring for and looking for out for others before herself. As a military child, she had to grow up quickly. Often times she was left with grandparents when I had to go away to formal schools, when I received orders to Japan, and when I deployed to combat zone in 2005 and again in 2011.
As my oldest, but still a child herself, she was there to help my mother raise and look after her sister and brother. She never complained but secretly worried so much so that it wasn’t evident she was struggling until she developed high anxiety. Kasey is truly selfless. Even now, as she is going through all this, her focus is making sure I promise to take care of her dog, Milo, if anything happens to her.
Asking for help is not in our nature but creditors are starting to call. She needs to focus on healing – not how bills will be paid. We are asking for donations and appreciate any help you can provide.
