Medical expenses due to Ethan's Assault
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Vayle, Ethan's fiancee, organizing this GoFundMe on his behalf.
Some of you may have heard Ethan was randomly assaulted, leaving a Mariner's game Friday, 6/17. An agitated, impaired man came up to Ethan and started punching him without any context or word to him. Unfortunately, the Seattle police saw this encounter and did nothing to help Ethan, letting the guy go.
In the following days we hoped this would be a black eye, and he would be able to move on. Unfortunately, Ethan's visit to the optometrist proved his retina was still attached but will have permanent membrane damage to his eye, causing shadows in his vision. We also learned that there was an issue with his insurance through his work, where he has been working for almost ten years, did not automatically re-enroll him this year, forcing him to move on without insurance.
Shortly after, we visited the ER, to get his nose straightened out (pretty crooked at this point) a CT scan was ordered and we learned that Ethan had endured several fractures. Two fractures on his nasal bone, one on his cheekbone, and two on his left orbital bone. The orbital fractures we severe enough that only 20% of the lower half was still intact, forcing Ethan to have emergency surgery. Ethan is in recovery now, with an eyelid stitched up, plenty of fresh bruising, and excited to rock an eyepatch. Overall we spent three days and two night in the hospital, with surgery occurring on the last day.
If you are at all able to help Ethan financially with his medical expenses, it is an unprecedented situation that we are hoping to put behind us as soon as possible. Facing these medical expenses without health insurance will be devastating to our finances. If you aren't able to help out financially: warm fuzzies, prayers and thoughts are very powerful.
Thank you and love you all!
