Medical Expenses for Ava Sanders
Donation protected
Hi all. This is my sweet niece, Ava Sanders. Ava was born August 12, 2017, weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and looking healthy as ever, from the outside. We were informed soon after her arrival that Ava was born with two congenital heart defects: VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect) and Pulmonary Stenosis. VSD is commonly known as a heart murmur, which is a hole in the portion of the heart that is supposed to keep oxygenated blood from mixing with deoxygenated blood. Pulmonary Stenosis is a thickening/narrowing of the pulmonary valve; when the pulmonary valve is too narrow it cannot fully open, which means the heart has to work way harder than normal to pump blood, and not enough blood reaches the lungs.
Unfortunately, her condition is too severe and the murmur is too large to correct itself, so Ava is scheduled to undergo a form of open-heart surgery to correct her murmur and thin out her pulmonary valve at the beginning of January. She is being treated out of town in Atlanta where they are keeping her for a minimum of 8 days, which leads to a lot of expenses for her family. Her mother is a hairdresser and her father works in retail, so they will not have any paid time off to be with her. Knowing this has caused a lot of additional stress as to how they will financially get by during this time.
I am hoping that any funds we can raise will help them with food, lodging, gas, and lost pay from being out of work. Any little bit helps and my family is so thankful for each and every one of you. If you cannot donate at this time, I ask that you keep my sweet Ava and our family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for reading.
