Medical expenses for baby Willow
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Diana Reinkraut and along with several of Leandra’s friends we felt we needed to do something to help. I am hoping you can find it in your hearts to donate whatever you can to help this family as this is just the beginning of a long journey back to health for baby Willow. This will be hard to read…. We love you Leandra. We are here for you.
On 4/21 Willow Galasso, age 3, of Upper Saddle River suffered severe facial injuries following a dog bite. While playing with her beloved friend, a family dog of seven years, the dog may have become startled by the toddler and bit her face. Willow was rushed to Valley Hospital and then immediately transferred to Hackensack University Medical Center’s trauma center due to the extent of her injuries. Willow underwent emergency plastic surgery. Willow had several, deep lacerations on her face and in her mouth, muscle and ligaments were torn apart, nerves were severed, and facial tissue was lost.
Willow is being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit. She has several surgeries and therapies ahead of her on her long road to recovery.
A meal train will be created to help the Galasso family at this time and food would help tremendously.
All funds raised for Willow will be used to pay for medical expenses, not covered by the family's health insurance plan; potential clinical therapies, to aid in her healing; including, but not limited to, speech therapy, myofunctional therapy, physical therapy and mental health therapy. Additionally, Willow will need the constant care of her mother, who is self-employed, so donations will help offset income lost during this difficult time. Any donations not used for the aforementioned purposes, will be used for Willow's future education. Thank you for your support!
