Medical Expenses for Dana Dahlen

On May 23rd, 2019 I heard the words no one wants to hear: “You have breast cancer.” Thus started my cancer journey & what I thought would be my path to healing & recovery & a long life.
I went thru 16 rounds of chemo July thru November 2019, a lumpectomy December 17th, 2019, and 34 radiation treatments in February/March of 2020.
In July of 2020 my doctors said I was cancer-free! Praise the Lord! I was so thankful for God’s healing hand.
Fast Forward to June of 2023 when a mammogram found a lump in the same area of my left breast as before. Ultrasound confirmed the lump. Biopsy confirmed it was cancer… AGAIN!
Why God? Why me?
I know He has a purpose and a plan for my life, so here I am facing a double mastectomy with DIEP Flap reconstruction where they take tissue from my belly to reconstruct my breasts.
It’s about an 8 hour surgery and I’ll be in the hospital 2-3 days. And then it’s a 4-6 week recovery, which is going to keep me from being able to work.
As a Realtor, I rely on being productive so I can get a paycheck. This is going to be hard not being able to work!
Along with cancer comes many extra unknown expenses. It’s hard to prepare for something like this. I never thought about all the “behind the scenes” things until I was diagnosed.
Any help you feel led in your heart to give would be very much appreciated… even if it’s a prayer to God to get me through this 2nd time around with total healing.
Thank you and God bless!
Have a pinky day!!!
