Medical expenses for Fire Captain Paul Sanders

Hello everyone.

I wanted to take a second to provide some clarity on a few things for the folks at GoFundMe and provide a brief update on Paul. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Aaron Corbiere and I’m one of Paul’s closest friends and work with him at the Flagstaff Fire Department. I started this fundraiser for him and listed him as the beneficiary of the funds because there were so many people looking to help out, but didn’t really know where to go to do so. As it stands right now, the funds for this campaign have not made their way to Paul yet because the folks at GoFundMe need to ensure he is the correct beneficiary and that these monies will in fact aid Paul in paying medical bills and help him with life expenses as he recovers from this life altering event.

Paul is currently at home and recovering and trying to make sense of a rather strange cardiac/ pulmonary issue after being discharged from the hospital for his third time in a month. The one thing I can say for certain is that he routinely expresses his gratitude for the love and support, and assures me that he will be back and stronger than he was before. His mental fortitude has been tested more than anything, but he remains steadfast in getting better and getting back to doing what he loves. On March 14th, Flagstaff Fire Department Captain Paul Sanders went unresponsive due to a cardiac event. FFD and Guardian Medical Transport crews rushed Paul to the hospital. After dozens of tests and nine days in the hospital, Paul was released to go home. He's not out of the woods yet, for the next several weeks Paul will be on IV antibiotics administered by a home health nurse. He will be unable to return to work for the foreseeable future.

Paul has always done anything and everything he can to help anyone in need, often failing to meet his own needs to ensure that others are taken care of. It's our turn to take care of Paul in his time of need. Close friends and family are doing everything they can to help with the day to day requirements. We are asking for financial assistance to help with medical bills and living expenses while Paul is off work recovering from this cardiac event. Anything that you can give will be greatly appreciated. Proceeds that are raised beyond the cost of living expenses and medical bills will be donated to charity.
