Matteo was badly injured while on duty. At the time, Matteo was doing what he loves, training his new Police Service Dog.
Matteo and another Police Officer were badly injured from a suspected hit and run. Matteo was transported to the Hospital, where he will have a very long road to recovery ahead. Matteo and his wife have four children, with a fifth along the way. Anyone that knows Matteo, would state that he would do anything to assist anyone, no questions asked.
This is gofundme was started by a group of Members who worked with Matteo in a previous posting in K Division.
This gofundme is to help alleviate the unexpected and uncovered costs for the family, with the long recovery ahead. Having four children, and a fifth on the way, will be extremely taxing. We are hoping that any money raised, will help with child care, and related family expenses (parking, fuel, and overall well-being of the Children and his Wife) while Matteo recovers in the Hospital. This also includes the likely years of physio therapy that will follow once released from the Hospital.
All the funds are going directly to Matteo’s wife, to manage the family and unexpected costs, that are not covered by Matteo’s employment.
