Medical expenses for Kara

Hi, my name is Gretchen and I’m fundraising for Kara Evans. She and her husband have both spent their lives serving others, Kara a paramedic and Brendon as a Lieutenant for the Mount Airy Police Department. Now, she can use your help.

Kara has been diagnosed with Dercum's disease which is a rare disorder that causes painful growths of fatty tissue called lipomas. Later she was also diagnosed with MS and RA. She worked at the hospital for as long as she could possibly stand it but the disease got to be too much for her body to stand while trying to care for others.

The treatments for one disease affects the others so her doctors are trying to manage it the best they can. She just had surgery number 13 last week and unfortunately there are more to come. She is a wife, a mother, a daughter and a friend. She has always had a giving, loving personality and would accept nothing in return. Now, it’s time that the community steps up to take care of her. They still have a teenager at home and they are living off the salary of a police officer, and we all know they are so under paid for the job they do every day. The money donated will help so much with medical bills, transportation expenses and living expenses. This is an amazing family who means so very much to the many people who’s lives they have touched.
