Medical Expenses for Klaus Schoenborn

My name is Deidre Dobbins. With permission from Klaus and his family, I am asking for help on his behalf. I have had the honor of knowing Klaus since he was in 3rd grade at Taylor Elementary. He was my student and became a good friend to my son. Klaus attended Hughes Middle School and Burleson High School, where he was a stand-out for the Burleson Elks football team. As an Elk, Klaus was awarded the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors first-team all-state honors at DE as a senior; second-team all-area, per Fort Worth Star-Telegram; first-team All-Johnson County and Johnson County Defensive Lineman of the Year, per Cleburne Times-Review; second-team all-district. After graduating, Klaus played football at Cisco College. He graduated with his Associate of Art in General Studies degree in December 2021.

Klaus is a determined and disciplined athlete, student and person. He is also a very kind young man.

Last week, Klaus was injured at work when he fell from a lift on his job site in Snyder, Texas. As a result of his fall, Klaus is now faced with his biggest challenge to date. He is paralyzed from the chest down. Klaus is determined to overcome this, but the road to recovery will be long and expensive. His father and sister are with him at a Lubbock hospital, where he will remain until he can be transported to a rehab facility in Houston.

The expenses are monumental. The hospitalization, the cost of a hotel room, gasoline, food and loss of wages from the family's inability to work.
