In February 2021, Lauren was incidentally diagnosed with pancreatic Neuroendocrine cancer. In March, she underwent a major operation to have parts of her liver, pancreas, and most of the tumors removed followed by three months of recovery.
As successful as this procedure was, her remaining tumors have continued to slowly progress since then. In September, her scans showed enough progression of disease in her liver to prompt beginning chemotherapy at this time.
Lauren and I have made the decision to move back to Louisiana to be closer to our family, friends, and her cancer treatment. As excited as Lauren and I were to live in our first house together and start a new life in North Carolina, we both know this is ultimately the best decision for her.
The last year of Lauren‘s life has been incredibly difficult. With juggling cancer treatment, fertility preservation, selling our home, moving to another state, it becomes quite overwhelming at times- including financially. Unfortunately, Lauren is now unable to work so we are asking our community for help. Any donation big or small will be used to help Lauren get through this next year of her life. Whether it’s through filling her car up with gas for an appointment, helping us cover moving expenses back to LA, or any additional bills that can’t be covered, all donations will be used to carry Lauren through the next year of her life.
We are so thankful for all our amazing family and friends who have been helping us through this entire experience. We can’t imagine walking this journey alone and we are forever thankful to all of you for your generosity and unconditional love. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all.
