Medical Expenses for Legolas & Katana
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tesla and I am fundraising for my two cats Legolas and Katana. I am a big animal lover and I try to care for and feed the outside stray cats, bring them to the shelter/find them homes and get them spayed & neutered. My heart is broken in this whole situation and I'm not sure what else to do.
On Wednesday, Dec. 13, my cat Katana went to the vet to have dental surgery. She had to get many teeth extracted because her mouth was so painful that she could barely eat anything. She was completely healthy other than her teeth and was playing in her carrier before I left her. The vet said the surgery went well when I picked her up. The next night I noticed that she was very lethargic and majorly drooling. I thought that this was just a reaction to getting her teeth pulled and that she would perk up in a couple days or that I could call the vet in the morning to get their opinion. But at 3am that same night we woke up and couldn't find her anywhere. We looked everywhere and eventually found her underneath the couch passed away. The vet said that she could have thrown a blood clot and thats why she passed but they don't know for sure. There is no real explanation for her passing and that makes it even worse. All she ever wanted was pets, attention, and food. She was the sweetest girl who loved laying on my chest to get as close as possible to my face while I slept. On the holidays she would go from person to person to get their attention and love. She will be missed forever.
Right before this, on Sunday, Dec. 10 there was a vicious dog attack on the stray cats in our neighborhood that left one cat dead. We found another cat a few days later who was not putting any weight on his severely swollen left foot. I could not let him suffer so I took him to a local vet. They said that his leg was broken and it needed to be amputated. After losing my baby Katana, I could not put this cat down and I had to give him a fighting chance. The ladies at the vet say he is a big mush. He is such a sweet cat like Katana was. We've decided to keep him and we've named him Legolas.
The total between these two babies is $2500. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading and thank you Katana for being such an amazing kitty who brought us so much joy.
