On 2/6/19, we got the phone call that no one ever wants to get: our Mom, Lynne Drost, was in the hospital.
Lynne had a massive stroke, but thanks to the amazing team at Hoag, survived the extensive surgery. Now she faces a long, difficult recovery from the stroke, on top of what looks to be metastatic cancer.
She has already beat breast cancer and bladder cancer once, and it devastates all of us that she’s here, fighting for her life again. This comes a little over four years after we very suddenly lost our father, which she was working hard even still to make ends meet after his passing.
Previously a home health aide, she worked to bring care and companionship to people who needed it, and now she finds herself as the patient and in desperate need. As the only sole income, bills don’t stop just because you’re in the hospital. She is in desperate need to make ends meet until financial assistance kicks in, and every penny counts right now.
