Medical Expenses for Shane Tice
Donation protected
Hey everyone and happy new year. I was hesitant to do this, but I know my brother would do it for me (whether I wanted him to or not). Some of you already know, and for those that don’t, my brother, Shane, went to the emergency room in late December with symptoms of A-Fib. What they found in addition to that was much scarier and much more than we were prepared for. A large tumor, about the size of a man’s fist, resting between his heart and chest wall. After more tests, he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder called myasthenia gravis and the tumor is believed to be a thymoma. He has had many more tests and will start immunoglobulin therapy tomorrow in preparation for his upcoming sternotomy to remove the tumor. We won’t know if he will need chemo/radiation until after the tumor is removed. The medical expenses are piling up already and even after the surgery he will have to manage the autoimmune disorder with expensive medications. He and his wife, Jennifer, own a small, hometown restaurant and will suffer a great loss of income during his recovery, as Jennifer cooks almost every meal that is served. Please help me support them through this already tough time and help them keep their business running when he is recovered. He is the kind of man that would help anyone in need, a loving father and husband, and an amazing brother. Any help is greatly appreciated.
