Medical expenses for Teri Leeper Taylor
Donation protected
Our beautiful friend has had a rough year. Teri was admitted to Skylakes Medical Center on May, 11th 2022 and had an emergency surgery that evening. She was discharged on May 23rd. Teri saw her surgeon again on June 2nd, and it was found she had developed an infection, and several antibiotics were prescribed. Teri went back to the ER on June 21st, and was re-admitted to Skylakes, where she remained until July 8th. Home Health was assigned, and finally made their first visit on July 14th, at which time an ambulance was ordered to take her back to Skylakes. Her surgeon was not available during this time and the staff surgeons were slow to respond or stop in to investigate the situation. Teri's condition continued to fluctuate.
Teri was discharged originally with one fistula caused by a tear in the small intestine. The second fistula developed on the hospital visit between June 21st and July 9th. The 3rd fistula developed after being released on July 9th. The 4th fistula developed shortly thereafter.
Teri was moved to the ICU on August 11th due to consistently low blood pressure, where she remained until August 17th. Throughout this process, Teri has mostly been off of solid foods.
Teri still needs one more surgery to repair the leaky small intestine, but is unable to have the surgery until her albumen levels rise to 4.0.
Teri is the main source of income for her and Randy’s household. You may recall, Randy had a lengthy ordeal with Covid and had to take early retirement and is disabled now. With many more days remaining for Teri to be hospitalized and then rehabilitation, this is an urgent plea for help. Please give what you can and please pass on to your friends. Please keep Teri in your prayers for a thorough recovery!
