Medical Expenses for the Love Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashley and I am a fellow cheer Mom with Monica, she and I have become friends through our daughter's cheer journeys at PCT. My personality is to help people and honestly, I feel helpless as this family is going through the unimaginable right now, so I have spoken with Monica to get her permission for me to do this, and she agreed and is very, very appreciative of any assistance provided to them.
The story: Our daughters had a cheer competition in Raleigh, NC on the morning of January 7th, as we were pulling into the arena I received a call from Monica that she wasn't going to be there with the girls because she had a stroke the night before and was hospitalized. My heart broke into a thousand pieces for several reasons, one of those being that I can't imagine how hard it was for her to miss her girl's cheer competition because she lives for her daughters and loves all things cheer-related and then all I could think about was how is this even possible, she is too young for this to be happening to her. She was discharged just a couple of days afterward, however, she is still dealing with the side effects of the stroke and undergoing tests to figure out the cause of why this happened. She got news recently that she could also be facing heart surgery. I can't imagine what she was feeling receiving that scary news knowing that she has a family that needs her.
On Sunday, January 29th, I helped Monica decorate for the girl's birthday party, at that time, I got to meet her husband, Jordan and everyone seemed to have a great time and everyone seemed well, however, on Monday, I received a message from Monica that she was in the Emergency Room with Jordan due to a high fever, high heart rate and chest pain. On Tuesday morning, I received a message that he had been admitted to Cardiac ICU and they still do not have answers, but were running tests to find out exactly what was going on, but on Tuesday evening I received a message that he was now in septic shock and his condition had changed to critical. Things would now be minute-to-minute. Again, my heart broke, not being able to fathom what Monica was feeling and knowing that they are desperately needing answers to find out where the sepsis it is coming from, but they need to determine that, so they can provide the treatment that he needs. As of this morning, Wednesday, February 1st, he remains in critical condition, but they have told Monica this morning to go home and spend some time with the girls, as the youngest one celebrates her birthday today and they were going to start running the tests that they need to hopefully find out what is causing the sepsis, fever and chest pain.
With all of this said, Monica was able to go back to work for the first time, this past Monday, 01/30/2023, after her stroke on January 6th with restrictions from her doctors, until they finish her tests and determine if heart surgery is needed, but unfortunately, that was short-lived since Jordan got sick on Monday and she has taken off again to be with him and he will also now be out of work for the unforeseeable future. As much as we can all prepare for medical situations, with insurance, savings, etc. NO ONE can prepare for these major medical events to happen so close together and at such a young age, so to help make the load a little lighter for them, I am asking that we join together and donate to help with their medical expenses.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions and/or concerns. I know that things are super hard right now for everyone, even the smallest amounts add up, but if you aren't able to donate, please join the circle of prayers for this family, they sure need them during this time.
A little message from Monica: "We are so appreciative of all of the prayers and people reaching out to help us!"
Thank you all in advance and be blessed, Ashley
*I just chose 5,000 dollars as a starting point, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that their medical expenses will exceed this amount, so please know that no matter what amount is raised (and hopefully we go over this amount), they will receive every penny! (minus the fees from GoFundMe of course)*
