Medical Expenses for the Travis Treadwell Family
Travis Treadwell was in a motorcycle accident on June 22, 2021, and taken by ambulance to Neenah Hospital. The ER determined he was paralyzed from the neck down. Neenah hospital didn't have the proper equipment needed, so they then airlifted Travis to Madison that same evening.
The doctors at UW Madison Hospital determined that Travis would be paraplegic. Travis's major injuries are a broken tibia (right leg), a completely broken Spinal Cord, and broken T1 & T2 vertebrae.
Doctors did an MRI and went ahead with surgery to repair his tibia and fuse the broken vertebrae. Travis broke his T1 & T2 vertebrae off in the front of the spine, making this very rare and severe (only the 3rd case that the most experienced surgeons in Madison had ever seen).
The surgeons said the tibia repair & vertebrae fusion went well, but they are not hopeful for the nerve around the fusion. They said he won't ever walk again and may have limited mobility of his hands.
He is currently on a breathing tube and feeding tube in the Intensive Care Unit of UW Madison Hospital.
