Medical Expenses for Tim McEwen
Donation protected
Tim and Patti McEwen are names almost everyone in Tuolumne County knows. Tim is always the first to help anyone, along with his wife Patti. As most of you know, Tim has been battling end stage renal disease, and has been looking for a live donor. Unfortunately, my dad Tim was recently diagnosed with calciphylaxis due to renal disease, and he has been taken off the list to receive a transplant. This is an end of life diagnosis, and we are heartbroken.
Because of the overwhelming amount of calcium in his body, Tim recently had a leg amputated, and is at UC Davis. The doctors are hopeful we can give him a little time, and make him comfortable. Some people may even go into remission with this disease, however it’s rare. We want to make dad as comfortable as possible, and bring him home after he can build up enough strength in rehab. However, due to my dad’s insurance it will cost my mom $400 per day. Not only that, the medical expenses are becoming overwhelming for patti.
My parents were always the first to help anyone, whether it was helping people with their animals, cooking free meals, or offering their home, they are truly amazing people. To receive help from our community would be of great comfort. Asking for help financially has been very humbling. Patti cannot work at this time, and can only receive FMLA, which is short term, and has yet to be paid.
Our family has been through so much. If you can give back, we greatly appreciate it. Please reach out if you have any questions, or would like to visit Tim, or help Patti. We love you all.
