Medical Expenses for Tony Maness

Hi…my name is Lisa and I am creating this for my step-dad Tony. Tony is a veteran who served in the Army. He is a dedicated family man who retired as a trucking broker for the Osborne plant in Grand River. In his 30s, he developed significant heart issues. Over the years, Tony has battled many heart attacks, mini strokes, etc. He has also had multiple procedures on his heart. He is now facing the most serious medical situation we have ever had. A couple of years ago, my step-dad was forced into retirement due to his heart and being diagnosed with cancer. The past year he has fought cancer with chemo treatments that put more strain on his heart. Tony lost his son unexpectedly on December 7th. As you can imagine, this had a devastating impact on my step-dad. On December 26, Tony had a major heart attack due to the stress and grief of losing his son. He is now in the cardiac ICU floor at the Cleveland Clinic. The stress has caused a complete blockage on the left side of his heart. The Cleveland Clinic came to my parents today and said he is facing high risk surgery and weeks of recovery if surgery is successful. This is putting much strain on an already strained financial situation from the cancer treatments. The donations would be used to help pay for mounting medical bills and endless co-pays. The extensive testing and inpatient hospital stay plus a surgery will be too much for them. It would also help to cover time off work that his wife, Darlene, will need to take to be by his side during this time. She has used all of her vacation/sick time at work. There is now no income coming in and we do not know when she will be able to return. Tony is such a great man. He has a gentle and kind soul. If you know him, you will know right away what I am talking about. Please consider helping them through this very difficult time. They have been through so much this past few weeks.
