Medical Expenses for Tucker’s Broken Leg

Have you ever met a kid who was a force to be reckoned with? A wild child, no a feral child. Well that’s our Tuck. If you’ve met him you already know that he is fearlessly independent and quite the thrill seeker. But he is also the sweetest boy, wether he’s climbing mountains or loving on his people he does everything with his entire heart.

While being fearless does come with certain challenges, including many typical bumps and bruises, Tucker finally met his match and had his first real accident last night (08/20/2022). Tucker was climbing into his big brother’s bed and fell. He sustained a nasty spiral fracture, which they do sometimes refer to as the toddler fracture.

After immediately rushing to the Emergency Room and going through X-rays, an iv placement, a blood pressure cuff, a heart rate monitor, all of the people touching him, and eventually having his leg splinted, he was awarded the title of the goodest boy by the ER staff. They could not stop talking about how brave Tucker was and how well he was doing throughout every step of the night.

 As his leg is splinted for now, we follow up with ortho on Monday (08/22/2022) to figure out what’s next. At the ER they did throw around the possibility of him needing surgery or at the very least a hard cast and some physical therapy. He will be on absolute rest until we have more answers from ortho and we can start navigating what’s next.

 As a household with one income and just buying a house, all of our money has been put into providing a save space for our boys. While Tucker does have some health insurance we’re worried that any other bills that might arise might hurt us drastically. We just want to be able to provide the best care for our boy.
