Medical expenses from hospitalization

Donation protected
A year ago I was at my lowest point.  I was suffering from mental illness and it was getting increasingly difficult to deal with.  I attempted suicide and was subjected to a mandatory hospitalization for approximately five days.  My time in the hospital was traumatizing and it felt like a day-care/prison.  And then, I was billed for it.  Even with insurance I have struggled to pay this off and because I made $10.96/hour I was told I made too much money for financial assistance.

I was billed for the ambulance, the ER hold, the hospitalization itself, and every doctor visit while there.  I was told I needed to see the doctor every day if I wanted to be released.  On top of these expenses, I also received large bills from my psychiatrist and my therapist around this same time.  My experience was traumatizing and financial assistance will help me get through it and move past it.

I started a Go Fund Me campaign last year after it happened, but the campaign has since expired and was unsuccessful.  I was ashamed to share my story and promote my fund-raiser.  But now, as I still struggle to pay medical expenses, I'm ready to share my experience and hope that someone will relate or be able to assist me with these bills.  Thank you for taking time to hear my story.
