Medical Expenses Help For Amy Coplan

Hey guys, my name is Megan and I’ve created this fundraiser for my mom, Amy Coplan. Anyone who knows my mom knows that she is one of the most selfless and giving people and would do anything within her power for anyone. If you know her then you probably also know that she has struggled with Fibromyalgia for the past 16 years. The last 6 months in particular have been extremely difficult. In addition to the Fibromyalgia, my mom has struggled with anxiety and depression since adolescence. Over the course of the last 6 months her doctors have been continuously changing her medications in attempt to find a treatment plan that improves her daily life, but they haven’t found the correct combination yet. Because of this Mom has been unable to work for months now, and, in all honesty, spends the majority of her day in bed each day.

On top of this, over the course of the last year or so, her team of doctors have been working towards the possible, but very likely, diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. The diagnosis of MS doesn’t come easy, or cheap. Mom doesn’t have insurance at the moment and medical bills are PILING UP. We’re talking a couple thousand dollars each month in just lab work alone. With MS, early diagnosis is key to getting on the right treatment path in order to slow the onset and maintain daily function. Mom has been referred to a neurologist to confirm the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, but the scans won’t be completed until the office receives payment up front to cover the cost. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, then the treatment can begin.

My mom is 46 years old. She’s a wife, mother of three (including a senior in high school this year) and grandmother of two. I’m asking for your help so that we can get her the treatment she needs to be able to live her life again — to allow her to attend high school basketball games and keep up with her grandkids when they’re in town visiting.
