Medical Expenses LucyLou

Donation protected
On September 26, 2020, my grandparents little Yorky managed to get out and was stolen. She had been missing since September 26th and they JUST found her yesterday, November  2nd, 2020 over an hour away from home. All the more reason to believe some terrible person did pick her up, possibly abused her, and dumped her. Thanks to someone who saw a little dog dragging it's back legs, down an alley in Fort Wayne, IN- animal control was called, they scanned her chip, and called my grandparents. Unfortunately, finding her was only the beginning to the nightmare. She has a severed spine and a broken femur. She is paralyzed and malnourished. If she is able to pull through, she will need a lifetime of special care. My grandparents love all of their dogs like their own kids, so any donations will help fix up their baby. It has not been an easy month for them, nor an easy year for this country and now they face so much unknown, but will do anything to give Lucy a great quality life as long as she is not suffering. The funds donated will be used to cover the medical expenses associated with caring for Lucy. As of now, the cost to get her the initial care and treatment is $2,500 with possibility of $10,000 if surgery is needed to save her. Anything you can donate to help my grandparents out is truly appreciated.

*See updates from the last month of efforts to find her - these are just some of the shared Facebook posts. My grandparents went door to door during this time trying to get any info from neighbors. They contacted shelters,  vets, local news outsources, created and hung up flyers and passed them out during trick or treating, etc. to try and find her. Below are the posts from my grandparents, family and friends that has lead to finding Lucy.

November 3rd, today:

Update 1:
Lucy is in ICU at Purdue. My dad has to work the voting polls today so I am with my mom down here. We didn’t get to sleep until after 4:30 and we are waiting on advanced imaging and the neuro surgeon on whether she can have an attempt at some quality of life possibly with a wheelchair. She has a broken femur, a badly broken back with spinal cord damage and is malnourished and dehydrated. The cost to fix her maybe upwards near $10,000 but if they say she has a chance without living in too much pain then they will probably move forward with surgery. As far as how she was found, we are receiving a lot of text messages and private messages asking so we are just going to tell you on here for everyone to see. Someone in Fort Wayne near the Panera bread saw a little dog dragging its legs behind them and called animal control. Fort Wayne animal control came out and scanned her for her chip and found us then took her to an emergency veterinarian hospital on Maple crest. We have no idea what happened. The doctor says she could have been hit by a car but she also said it could’ve been intentional blunt force trauma that caused it. Make no mistake about it we will get every surveillance camera in that area and we will find the people who did this to her. please pray for her and for my parents to know the right decision to make for her when the time comes for that.
Please pray for Lucy. I am at Purdue with my mom. It’s heartbreaking but at least she is safe now and we are doing everything we can for her.

WE ARE ASKING FOR PRAYERS PLEASE:

November 2nd: LUCY HAS BEEN FOUND in an alleyway near Panera Bread in Fort Wayne! She is in desperate condition, she has a broken spine, she is paralyzed, a fractured leg and is malnourished! She is on her way to Purdue to see if anything can be done? Please pray for Lucy’s comfort & healing, my sister & brother in law for strength, I can’t imagine their pain and seeing their baby in that condition!
Sincere thank you to everyone that has shared and prayed for our little baby, we just ask you keep praying for her health now, she is with her loving family again

November 1st: We are so grateful to everyone who has and is still posting about finding Our Baby Lucy. Lucy is a female Yorkshire Terrier, 8 months old, brown and black, 6 pounds, spayed, chipped and we have not seen her since Saturday, September 26, 2020. She was picked up by a car traveling East on Pierceton Road just east of where we live which is 2188 East Pierceton Road, Winona Lake, IN 46590. We live right beside the Christ Covenant Church. We have no information on the car and have done everything suggested to find her. PLEASE if you know a neighbor, family member, or friend with a Yorkie please check to see if they got it after our LUCY went missing. With everyone's help and prayers we will bring LUCY home.!!

October 11th: LUCY IS STILL MISSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She has missed some needed meds.
PLEASE check with anyone who you know who does not have or use face book! Someone picked her up in their car on Pierceton Road September 26, 2020. We are hoping they have not come forward because they have not seen our Posts for her return. We will not give up on finding her.

October 2nd: Lucy is still missing. Please we need your help finding the people who stopped and asked the neighbors if they had a dog missing because they witnessed the people putting A dog in their car just down the street as my dad‘s back was turned the other direction looking for her. Please help us find the car that stopped on Pierceton Road Saturday September 26 around 6 PM by Christ’s covenant Church in Winona Lake, IN and asked if the neighbors were missing a dog. We believe they might have a description of the car and what they saw. We are also checking with the neighbors who have cameras in the area and we are going to find the person that picked up the dog and didn’t try to locate the owners! We firmly believe that was Lucy

September 26th update after a night of search efforts: Lucy is still missing and there is now a reward for her safe return. We followed a lead of a Yorkie seen in the town of Pierceton today behind the fire station but we believe this is the male that lives in that town that’s been missing since September 7th and not our Lucy. If anyone knows who the person was that asked our neighbors if they had a missing dog because they saw a car picking up a dog at the time she went missing please let us know if you have a description of this car or license plates possibly. We would like to locate the people who stopped and asked that of our neighbors.. we believe they have valuable information as to who picked her up.

Original Post: My parents small Yorky named Lucy is missing on Pierceton Road by Christ’s covenant Church Winona Lake. Please if anyone sees her contact me. Our neighbors said they were approached by a car while they were outside asking if their dog was missing down the road because there was a car picking up a dog. The timing is a little off from when she came up missing but we think there’s a possibility that someone did pick her up. We are still looking. Lucy is still not home and I did want to add that she does have a microchip and she did not have her collar on at the time so please if someone thinks that she was dumped or neglected due to not having the collar this is not the case. She is missed and my parents life , we really need her back. We live on 3 acres and it was A matter of minutes that she got away from here and we believe picked up by a car down the road by HOPE Baptist Church. Please if anyone knows anything about the car that picked up a dog in this area yesterday let us know.
