Medical & Financial Help for Tanya & Family

Tanya Allen (Koch) is in the hospital after having a heart attack on Friday (12/8) at only 41 years old. She had a heart catheterization on Monday (12/11) that revealed she has had 3 heart attacks. No significant blockages were found and she didn’t end up needing a stent, which is good news, but also doesn’t provide any answers as to why she’s having heart attacks. This is her 8th admission to the hospital since July where she has spent over 60 days altogether.

Tanya and her husband, Bill, with their five children just bought their first home, Tanya started a new job she loved, and they were excited to welcome their first grandchild. Everything seemed to be falling into place when Tanya started experiencing a variety of different symptoms, including dizziness, disorientation, slurred speech, weakness, lethargy, memory problems, several fainting episodes resulting in physical injuries, gastrointestinal problems, abdominal/leg/back pain, and has lost a concerning amount of weight.

She has been diagnosed with Addison’s disease, adrenal insufficiency, renal failure, a severe heart murmur, heart failure, an enlarged heart, stomach ulcers, bulging discs in her back, spinal lesions, and severe stenosis She was also treated for sepsis and H. pylori. It also determined that she has had several small strokes too. She needs further testing, but is unable to have any MRIs until she has surgery to get her bladder stimulator removed, which has been canceled twice by the surgeon.

Due to her declining health, Tanya was left with no choice but to resign from her job. Bill is the only one working to support their family, but has been forced to take a significant amount of time off to help care for Tanya. He does not have any PTO left and is not being paid for any of the time he misses now. They are struggling to pay bills and provide for their blended family of 7.

Most days, Tanya struggles to get out of bed and now has to use a walker or wheelchair when her symptoms flare up and prevent her from standing or walking. She has not been driving, because she is afraid of passing out behind the wheel. She was just recently approved for Home Care though and is in the process of getting that set up.

The past six months have taken a toll on the whole family and have been exhausting, stressful, and frustrating, leaving Tanya feeling drained and defeated. Multiple trips to the ER, hospital admissions, testing, reiterating everything to different medical providers, specialist referrals, follow up appointments, paperwork, misdiagnoses, miscommunication, etc. have made her want to give up, but she still manages to find the strength to keep fighting with her kids and grandbaby as her motivation.

Tanya is finally starting to get answers, but still has a long road ahead of her and many unanswered questions. I know this can already be a difficult time of year and the rising costs of everything are making it even harder for so many, but if you can afford to donate even a little bit to help with the costs of traveling for further testing and treatment and prevent them from losing everything, they would be forever grateful.

Please share and keep Tanya and her family in your thoughts and prayers ❤️ Thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness!
