Manitoba Dogs Medical Fund
Over the course of our first year operating as a non-profit dog rescue organization,Heart Hounds has been fortunate to partner with two amazing rescues in Manitoba in order to intake urgent dogs needing rescue placement. Dogs entering our care come predominantly from communities affected by dog overpopulation and limited access to veterinary care, where they often live outdoors in packs of roaming strays that reproduce quickly. These deserving dogs arrive directly from remote areas into rescue, and some require extensive vetting before becoming available for adoption.
In addition to the vaccines, deworming, blood testing, preventive medications, spay/neuter surgeries and vet exams that go into every dog adopted through Heart Hounds, some of the dogs joining us from Manitoba into rescue require more major medical work - surgery to repair old injuries, diagnostics, and heartworm treatment to name a few. There is no expense too great when it comes to vetting care for our dogs, and we’re fully committed to ensuring each dog coming into care of rescue receives everything they need to be healthy and happy for adoption.
We are raising funds to help cover the costs of major medical expenses for these deserving dogs as we prepare them for their adoptive homes - they are worth every penny, and we are so appreciative of the community's support in getting them top-notch care while with us in rescue.
With Thanks,
The Heart Hounds Team
