Meet casey, our little airway warrior! He is 33 months old and has been fighting since day one of life just to breath, eat and sleep!

Casey has had a long medical history and currently struggling with shortness of breath, stridor, choking with eating & drinking, and low oxygen levels. Some of his diagnosis include severe laryngomalacia, chronic GERD, aspiration, laryngospasms, shortness of breath, dysphagia, OSA, hypotonia, laryngeal cleft (repaired) etc. Surgically, Casey has had 2 failed supraglottoplasty surgies and a successful laryngeal cleft repair.

Casey is currently being treated in Boston by one of the top airway doctors. He has completed a ton of tests while here trying to sort out what all is going on with his breathing. The most current has showed he has severe laryngomalacia and something was flagged on his latest xray that could be contributing. We are awaiting more test results including pulmonary, gentetics sequencing, immunology, etc.

Due to our rural area we travel 3 hours to pediatrician and speech therapy. We exhausted specialty doctors knowledge nearby and we have now traveled across the USA in hopes to find our little boy easy breathing. 

Staying here in Boston for specialist care means lots of increased expenses, including medical bills, flights, hotels, food, and loss of income from work. We are grateful the team here is being very thorough to help us find answers and leaving no stone unturned, but this means hefty copays for multiple tests, several procedures, and visits with many teams of doctors. Unfortunately, due to COVID, resources that would normally be helpful like Ronald McDonald House aren’t available.
